A Wedding!

Nate and Rachel were married yesterday in the Newport Beach Temple.  It was a great day!

He asked, She said YES!, They are engaged, Wedding is June 6th!

Lake Arrowhead

Last Saturday we headed up to Lake Arrowhead to visit our old stomping grounds!

We started at our favorite Blue Jay restaurant, BORDERLINE.  It hasn't changed a bit, right down to the turquoise nagahide benches.  After stuffing ourselves we drove over to the Village.  We did a little shopping at the outlet stores and got some yummy hot chocolate and carmel apples at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory!  

We decided to drive over to Golden Rule Lane and see the old house.  People are living there, so we couldn't go down and check it out, but everything looks the same.  We will always have a lot of great memories of living there with little kids and babies.  All and all it was a great day with the fam (minus Nate)!

Yes that crazy orange glow that looks like a nice sunrise is fire! The smoke pic is from the backyard and the fire on the ridge was from San Antonio (before the monster raced down to burn many houses).  

Things we learned from the Fire:

1.  Things are just things, but we are so glad we still have our things.... even though they have lost a lot of importance!

2.  Emergency Preparation is something to pay attention to.

3.  We need to organize our pictures! 

4.  Check out your insurance policy and make sure you have good coverage (learned this all week working at State Farm Ins in YL)

If you are a renter, GET RENTERS INSURANCE!)

5.  If you have time when evacuating don't forget a change of clothes ( I slept in my smelly, smoky clothes Sat. night! :)

6.  Family and church friends will be there when you need help.   

Weekend of Fire!

The fire is over!  We are very blessed have a house to come home to.  A lot of people aren't.  

Thanks to the Kaline's for letting us crash for 2 days while being evacuated, it was way too much fun!

We are cooking for them, stocking up their shelves, buying new clothes and having SO much fun!
